HOw do i sort out rust patches on the arches and under the boot lid? it's even started on the door sills :S

also be prepared for it to come back did you not get the car resprayed a short while ago?

Nope, ive never had it resprayed.. u must be thinking of someone else. She was just a minter wen i bort her but after sitting offroad for 1 1/2 years shes starting to becum bit of a rust bucket.

i got mine resprayed chris..will be goingin again this summer to get the little blemishes sorted again.(at no cost)

Check out JB's report on his red chammy, it shows him repairing the sills and one of his rear arches, also neals report on his black beast shows how to deal with the more extreme rust as in replacing the sills etc

there was someoen witth a silver one that was resprayed, maybe I know him from up here, dunno cannae mind.

JB's rust came back with avengence.

Its not that easy to totally eradicate it.

also neals was just patched not replacement sills.

they are replacements, from the seam in the middle to the back. I've still got the front halves of them in my shed.

yes but you patced them into the existing ones did you not? Obviously so as the other halves in the shed!

I can be a pedant as well.

So 'new sills' would mean replacing the whole length?

As we both know, rust is very rarely an issue at the front of the sills.

They rust at the front too, just not on the superior phase - often.

eh? what you on about?

you said i patched them, i said no they are replacements, by which i meant they were proper replacement sill parts, not just random bits of door or bonnet cut and patched on.
