Oil clocks + loom Plugs
Hey, right, i'm wanting to put the oil clocks in the dash, but when I took my dash off the plug for the clocks were already there but it didn't fit in the ph1 clocks because the notches were in the wrong place although it did fit if you squeezed it in.
So I thought some newer clocks would do it but it looks the same? So has anyone got any idea what I need to do? Also what plug are the senders for the clocks connected to? The brown one in the engine bay or the white one? thanks |

right just had a look, it seems that there are 4 wires that go to a brown plug which is probably the same one as in the engine bay. There are also 3 wires that go to other looms so I think they are power/earths.
The ones that go to the brown plug: B3 - Purple B5 - Orange C2 Dark white B4 - White B7 - Grey So If I connect those up in the engine bay hopefully they will work. The other 3 wires are yellow, white and black, so will any power wires be ok for these? Just thinking maybe one goes to a loom for when the lights come on??

had it working intermittently off the clock loom, but i think my clock but my clock loom is shagged I think because my clock never seemed to work..
Also the bulbs are dead as only one worked, can't find the same type of bulb either, it's a small type one but has a long bulb, not the stubby type.. grr. |

Drag this up.
I've just connected all the wires just like they were in the valver (to the brown plug in the dash) Lights work, but only the oil level works! The oil temp and pressure don't. Ive checked in the bay and all wires are present, not sure what the problem could be? |

wirings probably wrong wee man.
The other gauges willonly work when its running and for the oil temp to get up it needs driven a bit, you won;t really get hot oil temps if its sat idlign fr 20 mins in your drive.

Right Chris this is how it was in the Valver:
B3- Purple B5 - Orange/red C2 - Dark White B4 - White B7 - Grey Those were where the wires went in that brown plug in the dash, so I put them in. I checked the engine bay to see if those wires were there in the brown plug there and they were... Dunno what the heck is wrong with it grrr! The oil level is wierd too, it comes on, on ignition then goes off when the engine starts, the comes back on for like 10 seconds then goes off again..? |

the oil gauge should stop when the engien fires or more correctly once the oil light goes out and not come back on until its stopped.
if it was wired as it was int he 16v then it shoudl work int he rt shell.
