hey,a few probs with new car.

jus like to say hi first before i rant on about my probs .

ok i bought a K reg renault 19 chemade 1.8 16V for a 150 quid on sunday off a m8(had a recon engine 38k miles ago, disc brakes all round, and lowered). problem is he had it sittin for a while and now it wont start (we managed to bump it to get it the 30 miles home). ive fully recharged the battery and refitted it and it struck up the first couple of times (allthough it seemed like it didnt want to), an hour later it wont start again.he told me the batt would just need recharging as its been sat a while, but it seems this is not the case. any help would be appreciated.
also i wondered if it were worth keeping as it needs new engine mounts and a thermostat. this is the first renault ive owned and onli bought it as a run around as i crashed my car a few months back.

theres a tech article on it in the tech article section, called battery terminals and earths or something.

Dodgy earths can drain a new battery in less than a day on them.

cleanign them can only help, be prepared for them to fall apart though, if you have a jump lead ou can use that from ther battery to the engine if the clamps are small enough and drive around with it.
