19 16v side skirts and drive shafts

1. How are the side skirts held on on a ph1 16v? Is it just teh top along by the door and then at the very bottom? Doesn't seem to be anything front or back. All torx i assume? Sizes?

2. Megane f7r drive shafts, will they fit a 19 16v?

1. the top, the screws into each arch, the bottom screws and then they are slid on over clips on the side of the sill.

Only ph2's have the screws only holding them on.

2. dunno. Ask him for the length (dr s I assume) and measure yours or I suppose I could measure the ones I have in the shed.

So which way has it to slide, i don't want to break the clips or anything. The underneath ones are proper cruded up, are they 25 torx? They look like they used to be lol

slides forward, you need to undo the L shaped panel at the back of the skirt 3 x T20's. However chances are that won't happen so pull it forward and it'll just clear the body work.

T20 lower ones, you'll find a chisel is the best way to shift them, they screw into the white oval screw thingies which are cheap new if any get damaged so bad you can't put a screw back in.

I was at the shed and looked at it then closed it.

Anyway we want driveshaft face where it mates to the hub to the end of the shaft on the passenger and on ther drivers to the end of the splined bit where it goes ont re the box but when its pressed down if you knwo what I mean

well clear now.

Now to throw in another variable, some of the meganes have the spring on the inner cv pushing it out...

The 1.6 meganes shafts are in between the non 16V shafts and the 16V shafts, so dunno if the 16V's are longer as for some reason never had to change a 2 litre megs shaft, always the 1.6's. And always the offsides, they pull out of th einner cv when the rear mount goes soft.

570mm from the end of the shaft to the hub mating face, i.e. the bit where the splines start.

Thats on the nearside (our passenger dr S's drivers side)

can't see the offside shaft to measure.
