What do you mean door catch? The lock unit itself?

If you have access to it now and can see that everything is moving correctly i.e. the bars/levers etc are moving then you might be in trouble.

The meganes are quite common for rear locks btw

Fiddle with a screw driver, you'll get it open

Yes I think it'll fail an MOT like that. What happens if you crash and you have people in the back who can't get out?

it has to work and liek chet says common problem.

Its yet another area where renault decided, the 19 works perfectly well lets bugger it up.

So along with the adjustable exterior handle rods that slip and means you can't enter the car (megs and lags) and then the later gay cable arrangement they screwed them up pretty well.

Anyway, is the seatbelt or anything else jammed in the door shut? Push from the outside and try to pop it open. If thats not working and your sure its open the drop kick from insides the next best method.

if your light enough hold onto the interior opposite sides handle at the roof and make a kung fu noise and kick the door open.

Also get it on film if you can.

Otherwise lie on the seat and boot in, thats the pro way of doing it but less dramatic.
