dont press the big red switch

was having a look round for the map sensor in my megane and noticed a big red push button switch. switch is located near the passenger side wing. does anyone know what it does?

That's the inertia switch... in the event of an accident the car will detect the shunt and cut all power and fuelling. All cars these days do this and that big red button is hte master reset that restores everything.

If you're planning on using the car in a ram raid or as a get away car be sure to remove that switch first and jump the temrinals

it only cuts power to the fuel pump.

Like chet says, trip it and it will just stop running. Push the button and it will start again.
