R19 td gearbox on F7P engine?

Today I visited local Renault spare parts shed, theres a guy who has only old Renaults in his garange (and around it ) so he's my source for cheap but sometimes valuable parts...

So I asked him today about R19 turbo diesel gearbox, and he said that there's no R19 turbo diesel engine...

Which is strange because I'm shure I've found somewhere on the net R19 19 tD

Anyways, what would be the effect of putting that gearbox onto F7P engine, with 15" wheels...

I guess the ratios should be looong in every gear, right?

Anyone got some figures, roughly, of speeds through the gears?

And - what is the code of that gearbox?

nothing wrong with the old box, just heard from somewhere on the internet that turbodiesel gearbox is longer, so better max speed, and that is also rigid like gt turbo gearbox, and read about original F7P boxes being very fragile...

something to do with the fork selector caps, made of plastic or something like that

lol sounds like this box on std engine stops on 5000 rpm in 5th gear which is pretty economical in a certain way

I very much doubt you will be going more than the 150 mph your engine will rev to with the 16V box on it.

Stickt he td box on to make it slower if you want though.

ok, so the td box idea isn't the greatest, ok, just exploring the options, nhf

what about the story on 16 gearbox (what is the code anyway and how many versions of the box are?) on being prone to breaking down...dropping out of gear in fifth or third...

Is is a common failure? And does it have to do anything with those caps on selector fork/s?

droping/poping gears
blowing diffs
killing casings
smashing gears

all on JB3.. JC5 is ment to be best

though there are some mods been done to diff boxes to make them stronger (JB3) which look good

The JB3 is just as reliable as the JC5 is tbh.
