Dead Lambda sensor?
Ok,
Went to Hillpower today to have the valver Dyno'd, only to find out when the plugged it all in the lamdba is dead. Few questions, nick hill said it wouldnt matter for the RR as when throttle was wide open it just ignores lambda. Will i suffer poorer fuel econemy because of this duff sensor? Wheres the best place to get a new one? i hear people seem to buy wrong ones all the time, wrong type e.t.c Easy to refit? Any advice is greatly appreciated, ta. |

it will mainly effect your idle, and you will fail your MOT, the lambda sensor maintains the stoichiometric level (not used that word since I was in college..lol..), it may cause the car to run a little rich at low revs, so it will effect your fuel economy.
It's usually an easy job to do, it just bolts into the downpipe on the engine side of the cat. |

dead/slow responding lambdas cause faulty idle, surging and huntign at idel.
The lambdas ignored during cold start enrichment and full throttle

May that lambda sensor rust in hell.
Had to remove the downpipe and grind the fooker off, it wasnt budging at all and was rounding nice and easy Had to drill it out and weld a nut on to give the sensor a thread. Bloody renaults Many many thanks to Stan for carrying out the work, highly reccomended! |
