Wink Engine running HOT

1998 Laguna 1.6 16V

Problem
Since flushing out the cooling system I have been having problems with the engine temperature running little higher than normal on the gauge, (between half and three quarters) during driving.

If in traffic temp will rise above three quarters, with the heater fan on high the temp will drop. But at no time does the radiator fan cut in

Top and bottom rad hose is hot to touch, as is the rad

I’ve changed the thermostat still the same
Checked for air at bleed points, none present

Need to check the rad fan but can’t find the sensor switch within the rad, (Haynes manual show no use whatsoever)

Please could someone help to find it?

Or am I missing something totally obvious?

If the temperature is too high during proper driving then it's not the fan that's at fault, that should only need to come on when you're not moving at any great speed.

however like you said the fan should come on when the temperature's that high

Bleed the system, undo the cap on the coolant tank and run the car for abit till the fan kicks in.

This morning I
removed filler cap
opened bleed screws in turn, no air present
ran enginge from cold at low revs (filler cap off)
Squeezed Top and bottom rad hose (while engine was running)

Rad fan is now cutting in when engine is temp is at three quarters, also I can see the coolant is now flowing Through the coolant tank via the small pipe this wasn't happening before.

Let engine sit running for over 20 mins temp never went over three quarters

Think maybe it should be ok now, Thanks guys
