Swivel hub securing bolt won't go in!

Yet another hurdle, I cant get this damn bolt in the hole, i've tried knocking it through with the hammer but it just comes out the otherside all mangled, what's it hitting?? It's a piss poor day today so any help greatly appreciated! All the shocks, hub nut and tie rod is connected up so please don't say i've got to undo it all in this rain

theres a groove in the balljoint where the bolt shank slides through to help secure it. You need to move the wishbone down to get it to line up.

the top of the balljoint pin should be about 1 - 2mm above the top of the hub carrier when you look at it.

It can only go in 1 position mate unless you belt it in.

jesus it's terrible!! The steering has a mind of it's own, just general feeling of instability! Feels a bit light, so this has to be the track rods right? But what?! Also the tracking is out and moves at will!

ok in my quest to find a mirror tracking place I noticed some dodgy sounds (think they were there before aswell) It's when I move the wheel, i've got 2 soundclips so you can have a listen.

It's not the strut bearings are they were spot on when I put em in yesterday and they were all greased up, also the springs arn't broken and everything is seated right.

Also on full lock (when wheel goes even futher now on full lock) if I drive it makes a knocking noise and the steering wheel rocks, is that the tracking aswell?

thanks.

are clio 16V wishbones different to non-16V wishbones?

If so, I'd say you need the 16V wishbones if you have used the 16V struts.
