Steering arm ball joint

Mine wont budge!

I've undone the lock nut that hold the ball joint in place. Now as far as I know the ball joint should un screw fairly easily.

I've tried using a spanner on the flats of the ball joint, but thats no good. And today I've been heating it up with a blow torch, but it still wont budge.

Any one recommend anything, or am I fcuked

are you talking about the track rod end? The pin part that goes through the hub carrier?

get a hammer.

hammer round the hub where the pin goes, it may just fall out.

Put the nut back on a bit and belt the top of it and it will pop out with some luck.

if it doesn't then blowtorch and hammer

i think he's on about removing the track rod end from the track rod.

In which case, blowtorch, blowtorch and more blowtorch until it's cherry red, then get a spanner at the steering rack end of the track rod where there is a hex section, jam that off against the suspension. Then continue with the spanner trying to rotate the TRE.

Fingers crossed, or its going to a garage to have the job done.

Just so you know, Im replqcing the gaitor for the steering arm. It failed the MOT on that and some other minor things that I've sorted.

Thanks all. I'll let you know how I get on..........
