Unhappy rotor arm stuck

changing distributor cap and rotor arm (renault 19 1.4 H reg)
managed to get distributor cap off - eventually (worn screw underneath not easy to get to) but the rotor arm seems firmly stuck(?). any tips for best way to get it off? (trying not to damage the wee cover thingy that's on the distributor) is the rotor arm 'sealed' on? and if it is and i get it off, what should i use to seal new one back on with?

Should just pull off. It's not bolted, it just slides onto the cam carrier.

Unhappy oops

completely jammed. tried for another half hour and ended up breaking one of the 'lugs' on the rotor arm. also, the 'cover' (paper?) over the distributor seems to be disintegrating. guess it's quite important(?) so i should get a new one? does it need sealing to the distributor?

whatsitcalled?

ta much! went out and bought BIG pliers (looked like a wrench but said pliers on the packet ) - managed to get rotor arm off by grabbing with pliers and twisting from side to side (a tiny bit) and pulling at same time - think it moved like half a milllimetre at a time - but got it off eventually!

fitted new rotor arm and cap ok(after cleaning rust!), but noticed that the middle lead that fits on the distributor cap isn't really 'clicking' into place. (although the car started , tho' not at first ) also looks quite corroded down there - stupid question but just want to make sure before ordering one - is this called an 'ignition coil lead'? or 'coil ht lead'? or something else
