R19 Key reprogramming

Hi, a few weeks ago the central locking and immob failed to operate with the key plip. Chris H suggested I check the rec'r and key and both appear to be undamaged and working - it appears that the car is coded via the ecu. I obtained a code from local renault to bypass the imob and use the key to open doors manually at present. At present I can use the car and have not needed to but in a code since inserting the by pass code - trouble is the car currently has no immob.

I would like to get the car operating via the plip but don't want to be fleeced by renault - is there any way I can code/recode the key plip? I have also obtained a couple of 2nd hand plips and would like to recode these if possible - the car came with only 1 key plip and no booklet etc. When renault gave me the immob by pass 4 digit code they gave me 2 codes but the first one worked - would the second 4 digit code be anything to do with programming the key?
