starting problems

my 19 is a bitch to start when cold and when warm can fail to start. ive read through the threads,but i am unable to find the crank sensor to clean or replace any suggestions?

crank sensor is really easy once you know where it is! It's on top of the gearbox housing, and it's held on with a bracket that has a screw at either side. Undo these and wiggle it out without damaging it. To find it, look for the wire coming from it, it's right on top of the gearbox quite close to the engine block.

Once you've got it out you'll see it's just an exposed metal pin and should clean up easily enough.

As far as starting in general goes, it's always worth making sure the battery is clean and wired up well, and that the earth cables are well attached to the body and engine and not frayed. I'm sure people on here could list a few other possible causes for poor starting, but these two are easy to do regardless

Smile cheers

nice one, replaced battery,earth leads and plugs,cleaned the crank sensor and it now runs better than ever, exept for the clutch and thats another problem all together. any suggestions on a good replacement clutch?. thanks again
