Coolant circulation

Hi All,
Blimey, I have just realised I haven't been here for ages. So long infact that the forum looks different and I had to register my user name again!

Anyway guys, I've just noticed that my coolant in the expansion tank of my R19 TD doesn't seem to be circulating. I've been to Southampton and back (300 miles) with it like it but it obviously ain't right. Any ideas?

Cheers
Iain

the small return pipe can block easily. But its at the bottom of the bottle in the seperated bit where coolant flows at other times. the small return is only in operation when the stats closed, it will work fine if blocked as well. better unblocked though.

That's cool cheers Chris. I also noticed BTW that there appears to be no pressure in the pipes while the engine is running but I'm losing no coolant???

the cap will be dodgy, normally they don't spill all the coolant out anyway when theres no pressure unless you try to boil it it then it does.

Found out that one of the pipes from the matrix was leaking. Tightened that up an got a bit of pressure now but still no coolant from the small return pipe.

I think you're right. I took it off and there's a trickle coming out. Too dark now but will try a knitting needle down it tommorow to see it it clears
