I would have used a narrower hose clip.
But not it shouldn't leak. It will leak but maybe a dribble per 1k miles not enough to be wiped dry down the shops and its wet again.

because the nearside shaft goes into the gearbox diff directly. the bearing in the cv will always weep a tiny bit, but not much.
The reason it goes intot he box instead of like other cars a short shaft is to reduce torque steer and improve handling.
