Are there any to look out for on a phase 1 16v also whats the main difference between a phase 1 and 2 any power difference etc????

no power difference.

main plus is the weight difference...and the looks, but thats personal

ph1 lighter.

the phase 1 headlight output about twice as much light as the ph2 ones.
Ph1's rust less.

gearbox on the ph1 is longer so higher top speed, the ph2 had a shorter box so it coudl try and match the ph1's speed.

there sissues with them but best to see whats wrong when you get tghe car.,

if it had bendix ABS thats the first thing you need to rectify.
