brakes jamed solid
Happend a few weeks ago, only just thought about it again!
was just driving home from work, about to turn left into a junction off a main road, indicated, went to push the break pedal and nothing, in fact the thing would not move 1mm! looked down and nothing silly like my foot under it, started kicking the crap out of it and would not go down. thankfully the other 3 cars at the junction took no notice of my indicating to turn left as I shot past it. Slowed down with handbreak and engine cut out at some point, slowed down and stopped, thankfully! safely! After total panic left a few moments latter, pushed the pedal and it sunk down to the floor. Started engine and kept pushing it until pressure came back up again. Drove home *carefully* was only down the road thankfully! all was OK. checked pipes, fluid level fine. been driving around carefully since and not had the problem again. thing is, has anyone had this problem before ? At least now I expect it to happen so ready for it, though first time I ever had the pedal jam UP! Chris |

chances are this could very well be the master cylinder. But it could also be the rear wheel cylinders, have a look aty the rear wheels and see if theres any wet patches on them or on the drum back plates.
Has the fluid level changed?
