quick question, is it a hub off job to change the bottom ball joint?

nah, just get an assitant to push the wishbone down with a breaker bar/jack handle when you need to tightened up the bolts that hold it to the wishboner.

You can do it without jacking it up and with the wheel on but its a pita and a daft way to do it but needed if you don't have a jack and no lockign wheel key. Thats when its fun.

Just went to have a look, but how did you get the hub off the balljoint without prizing the hub open as you can't get to it?

Or did you take the balljoint off the wishbone 1st and then try and get it off the hub that way?
