chopping springs
I want to lower the front of my 19 just a little bit.
Tried some lowering springs but they were too low, looked shite IMO. So I want to lop 1/4 of a coil off each spring, however much is needed to drop it by just 10-15mm or so. OK to just get the grinder out?

nope, not alright, not for a 1/4 of a turn, you need to take off a full coil at a time so that the ends of the springs still sit in their intended place on the shocks.

No. get the right spring's. Looked hard and You will find what your after. Germany might be a place to start. That's where we got the 15mm lowering spring for the black coupe from. before it was like 70mm. And drove like as ass on road.

OK, then get another set of springs, some old ones from a scrappie or similar and test on those first.

im lead 2 believe if u get springs for a 1.4 engine or summat small they are made to take less weight so ur f7p engine will drop them slightly lower than if they where on the 1.4 and than ur 1.8 springs... count the number of coils on both springs, could be wrong though check further! i no it works like that with the pug 106 / 205 n stuff

the 1.4 springs etc are tapeed only the 16V has parrallel springs.
However the clios have stright ones. Using softer springs also takes the handling away
