Engine stops and dont idle normally??

My r19 16v made strange things today- just engine stops and no idl- then little ride and its ok again and then problem is back. I heard that fuel pump mada very loud noise - ok I changed it - a little ride everything seemed ok but then again when I take gear to neutral it stops - when I ride it makes a thing like it don't get the fuel. Fuel filter is changed too.

What can be the problem??

In the fuel ray it sounds like sewing machine I don't know is it ok or its not.

Rein.

check the idle control valve, clean it up and clean the throttle body as well.

Noisy fuel pump is normal on these by now, most will still work ok whilst being loud.

Today I cleaned throttle body and idle control valve and I changed that white temperature sensor as well (cos I had new one). I cleaned spark plugs they were quite dry foulded (NGK.com - Spark Plug 411) and quite oily from outside. So then I went to drive for start revs are about 1600 (too much) and after 25km they are about 1100 a little moving is too like 900-1200 sometimes but engine never stops.
What can cause high revs now?
Do I need to change spark plugs. Its wierd that fuel pump started to make that noise just then when the problem came.
Rein.
Thanks for Chris again.

Any ideas why the idle speed is 1100-1200 now? Everything else is ok now.

high revs is either the iscv sticking or the road speed sensor.

the iscv spinner inside will rotate freely when its off the car, flick the icv to move it.

road speed sensor is on the speedo cable and gives the ECU road speed information, this adjusts for load etc

For now, I tried other Iscv and revs on idle was over 2000 maybe it was broken.
But now engine wants to stop sometimes and sometimes ride is smooth. Idle is 1200.
How to change road speed sensor?

Behind the dashboard. There is an electrical plug coming from the Speedometer cable which joins to the back of the dials.

Reno m8,

Sounds alot like the problem i had, read my post

idle sensor/ idle prob?

after changing everything i could, including the road speed sensor, which is a bitch! and i doubt v much is the problem.

turned out to be the throttle position sensor, after taking to Renatech in Bristol, the TPS on computer was lock at 200rpm, screwed! but would still drive with the problems

This caused it to foul at lights, with no idle sometimes, when starting, rev up to 1400rpm, wobble around a bit, as if the lamba had gone, which it hadn't.

m8 i recommend you get it plugged in somewhere, will save you alot of wedge on what it might be, instead you'll know what it is!
