the bottom pic, it's not fully bolted in on the pic as they are nyloc nuts and i don't want to wind them all the way in just yet, but it should show you the position its meant to be in, which way the clamps go round etc.
They are not different by the way, the top pic just shows the rack resting on the subframe before its pushed onto the two long bolts at the bottom.

Some more pics
Long bolts in bottom holes, which go all the way through the subframe and all the way through the bottom holes of the rack clamps. ![]() ![]() now this shot shows the top of the rack clamp with the threaded hole into which the two shorter bolts go (sadly I am still waiting for new bolts to arrive so I can't show these) ![]() and when tightened up with all 4 bolts, the rack should fit flush to the subframe (again note i have only got the two bottom bolts through at the mo)

Yeah cheers for that Si, all clear now.
I've just been out for a look at it with the old man. First problem I have is I have lost/mislaid/don't have the super long bolts and nuts that go through at the bottom. Second problem is the two bolts that go through the top are too long which is why they are going tight before the clamp is, the threads are bottoming out. Reason being most likely because they are the ones used to secure the manual rack, which as I now know is different positionally. I can't get these bolts out unless I drop the subframe at the rear or bash the shell to give enough room to get them out so I might just angle grind a couple of millimetres off each side, a bit chav but it'll do the job and it's not exactly noticeable once it's all screwed home. So I'm going to have to get a pair of long bolts, nuts and the washers before I can get it all bolted together. Can you get these from Renault? Don't suppose anyone has access to the part numbers on Dialogies if you can? Ta.

Bottom bolts (the long ones) 77 03 101 199 (you need two of those of course)
Nuts - 77 03 034 244 (sold in a pack of 10) Washers - 77 03 053 929 (you need 6 of these, 4 for the bottom bolts and 2 for the bolts that screw into the threaded part of the rack clamp) all available from Renault

I had it powder coated (it was a brand new subframe to start with in standard black)
