your brakes may be sticking, caliper seized and applying a slight braking force all the time.

jack up the wheels one at a time and see if they spin freely with the brakes off.

drive it as normal and then touch each road wheel. The rear ones will be coller than the fronts and should be equal in temp, if one is roastign then its siezed.

Same with the fronts.

Also what car is it as we can advise further when we know what car it is.

Well its discs all round so look for sticking sliders/seized pistons.

well on all injection cars when you release the throttle the fuel injectors stay closed so zero fuel goes in to the engine until the over run fuel cut off disengages which shoudl happen around 1500rpm.

could even be a duff mount. Mine is the same cos the back mounts gone. Back off it keeps going then clunk as the engine shifts it starts slowing as normal.

Yes they have them.

Map sensor if you look in the megane K7M running problems tech article you will see the map sensor, same position and type as the 19.

Raod speed sensor, when your rolling along and dip the clutch does the engine stay slightly above idle then when you stop drop down to idle speed?

I had a similar problem. Not long ago.

The connector to the throttle position sensor was loose, it basically made it cut out and more to the point rev up and down, I just thought the lambda had finally gone as the car had sat for a month or 2 not used.

Checked it and the plug just fell off. Plugged it back in and it was fine again. Might not be your prob but worth a look.

TPS can be teseted with preferably swinging needle multimeter, just make sure the needle moves slwoly as the throttle opened, if it drops to 0 then shoots back up its pretty much past it.

Map sensor, make sure the pipes clear and not burst. As for testing you cvan't really on a diy basis unless you have another to swap with it.

Road speed sensor like I said the revs should stay up with the clutch dipped and the car rolling.

Lambda sensor, unplug it and see if the problem goes.

well it should

mine only does it sometimes. Other times it drops straight to idle which is about 900rpm.

before i changed my stat and rad switch for std ones, i always used to have to blip the throttle when putting clutch down and braking as if i didnt it would nearly always try and cut out.

since changing them it simply acts perfectly...drops like i said and settles...still gettin used to not havin to blip throttle...

why do u think that was? i cant see connection....works as it should right from cold start....

Well the management is perfected around a certain temp range so to cold and it will run crap.

Before I fitted a stat to mine it was the same, then I used chamadyelooks old stat then got as new one eventually after it died.

Best benefit for me was the major hike in fuel economy!
