Nice to hear you finally got her running Stan and it looks very sexy indeed. Would like to she her in the flesh some time as i'm sure the pics don't do it justice! I would also like to bend your ear about a couple of things... mainly how much do you want for the meggy exhaust manifold and cam covers as I see you've gone with the F7P items... Naughty little sleeper Wink

I also noticed that you're having the rubbing issue with the inlet cover! I take it off the 19 when we're driving it about now as we've already killed one and I'm in the process of removing the bracing from a bonnet to stop it doing this again!

yep having the rubbing issue...didnt think anyone would notice! TBH i didnt even think i would be able to fit the plastic cover under the bonnet. im going to put some sort of protection on the inside of the bonnet...maybe foam tape or similar. doubt it will last long tho!

i have 2 rocker covers, so make me an offer on one of them. as for the exhst manifold, i may sell it, but the downpipe has been butchered!

get me on msn if u want to chat: craigstanley_781@hotmail.com

Cheers Stan, will add you to MSN and have a word with you tomorrow mate about the covers as i'm gonna hit the sack but I assume they are the original Megane ones? Also - please don't put any form of rubber or foam tape on the under side of the bonnet to try and sort the rubbing. We did this using some "Cold Bridge" tape which we use at work to stop cold transfering between steel wall panel sections in buildings and it's usually very tough and durable but all it did was get warm and make the plastic look even worse. I spent about an hour at French Car Show and a bottle of tar remover getting the nasty shit off which is why i'm just removing the inner skin of a valver bonnet and then getting it painted to match the rest of the car cos those covers are like rocking horse shit around our way and seem to be quite sought after by Megane Coupe owners cos the plastic screws also tend to break!

Still, hoping to get up to Scotland soon with some of the RSC lot so would be nice to meet up with some of you guys to.

got block back today.....damn good job!

so....ive fully cleaned it, got it on a stand and paited it gloss black....ready for the build next week.

CR has been calculated to be a healthy 12.4:1. in-line with the manufacturers quote of 12.5:1, since material has been removed from the chambers

also, my JC5 gearbox has been re-built,\ and ive treated that to a coat of silver paint!

all in all a productive day (2hours after work)!

right, quick update. went back to Swansea for a long weekend to see my beloved! SO i thought i would take my crank and flywheel (infact the the whole of the crankline...pulleys, clutch cover, bolts etc) to a bloke i know in Cardiff. he has a well kitted machine shop and i let him loose on lightening the flywheel and dynamically balancing the whole lot. he took 2.5kg's off the fly, and done a cracking job on the balance side. his balancing machine was intended for turbines, and has an accuracy 5x the "normal" equipment! top stuff!

anyway, only spent an hour tonight cleaning and fitting crank. 2moro night i will fit the pistons/rods, then the whole lot should be complete by mid/end of the week. then it will be time to make the engine loom!

pics WILL follow asap....
