matrix leak only does the front passenger footwell. Like I said the rears wet due to the rear door not sealing and/or the sunroof.

The reason you had to cut the carpet was to get it out round the speedo cable.

Hmmm could be the temp guage / warning light sender unit connection.

does the temp gauge on urs work ?

have a look on the thermostat housing and see if its got 2 connectors on there, one being the CTS connection (white plug) and the other being the temp gauge connection. (brown plug)

bolts look to be threaded, common problem probably need a new hub.

The wheels don;t sit over the hub in the middle because they don't have the right size spigot ring, not a problem.

Fusebox is fine, if its melted then you have a problem.

The wires are not standard, any of them. Probably some dodgy ICE install maybe some alarm gubbins as well.

Black thing on the pillar, do you have an aerial base on the rear windscreen? If so car phone, the megane has the same but its grey and round. My chamade has the aerial but no wires etc anymore.

Its leaking through the aerial, take it off clean the roof and the base then tighten it properly.

New stalk is cheap from the scrappers.

The plugs for the throttle body heater, no 19 has the associated wiring as its not needed.

No cover inside the boot. Does the boot lock work with the central locking? Normally the wires have snapped, my chamade and the white one were both snapped, still need to sort the white chamade's out. If the locks loose and you can pull it out you need to get the metal slide clip.

Your sunroof may be going slow because on the inside of the roof there is a piece of cardboard that Renault stuck to the roof and as the years go on the cardboard becomes unstuck and falls down onto the sunroof mechanism, the result is either the cardbaord slowing the operation down, or the cardboard jams the mechanism and totally snaps the runners and pulleys, if you close the sunroof and pull the blind shut, then look in from the outside and see white flakes of material sitting onto of the blind then the cardbaord has started falling and is rubbing against the sunroof, the good news is that it is easy to fix.
My 1916v had this problem but luckily it did not snap the runners/pulley's, but i was not so lucky on my 21t, the cardboard fell onto it and totally wrecked everything.

Yep know the feeling mate. You go to do something simple but find that some monkey has got there first sometime in the past and fucked everything right up, so you have to fix that as well.

gearbox earth strap is in the wrong place, it goes to the passenger ineer wing, you get to it from the wheel arch with the wheel off. Where its bolted the now it not a good earth point.

Battery tray need welded back up thats an mot failure and the sheels not structurally sound now. Theres been a leaking battery in there at some point.

The wire in the batt compartment is from an alarm.

Plug on the slam panel is always there, dunno whatits for never be bothered looking but I have yet to see a car with it plugged in.

Butchered wire byt the steerign column, dunno might be a part of a dodgy alarm/immob install.

no you spraying water into the car like a spastic is whats made it wet. The water from there will drip onto the brake mastercylinder which will eventually arse that up.

Thing under the bonnet is the switch for the alarm.
