Well I've been back now for a couple of weeks, and sure thing the 19's already broken a couple of things:

First thing was the front d/s wheel bearing, so I took a trip to Part Co and got one for £31, then once I'd taken off the Hub I whizzed it down to the local garage so they could fit it for me, as it was seized in pretty good. Only cost me a tenner so that wasn't too bad.

Then the Wife battered the car whilst hormonally depressed and drunk. (Bitch!) This meant that I had to test out my panel beating skills and pop out the dents, which didn't work as well as I'd hoped but was a lot better then I had expected.

I then found that my Drivers headlamp had a stone chip in it, so I’ll have to get a second hand one. (Feck)

And finally it started to misfire like a twat yesterday.
I managed to temporarily fix it by draining out the plug holes, as the No.4 plug was filled with oil. I also tightened up the rocker bolts slightly but to be honest I’m going to need a new gasket.

I’ve still got the cam belt kit to fit and as the rocker gasket has gone, is it worth doing the head gasket at the same time?

How much is the full head gasket kit from the factors?

I've got a lot of oil leaking down the back of the engine, it seems to be coming from below the rocker so my first guess was headgasket?

I could be wrong but what else could cause it back there?

Could that also cause the plug wells to fill up with oil??

I've been off work now for two weeks and TBH I've not done much to the car.

First thing I did was whip off the rocker cover as the gasket was knacked!
then I had the bright Idea of painting it.........White?? It didn't come out perfect but I've not done this before and I'm happy.

I took the front bumper off so I could get the drivers wing off and get better acces to the front o/s engine mount. having taken the plastic trim out of the arch I was'nt supprised to find 12 years worth of dirt and rot.

Thats it on the floor!

I fitted the new wing and gave it a clean.

No more mud!! that just leaves the other side to do later Sad

I found a bit of rot on the bottom sill and in true Schakal style I conered the holes using liquid metal wire mesh and fiberglass covered with underbody seal Razz

I had to sort a couple of holes in the top sill and 1 in the bottom corned by the rear arch.

I don't think they came out too badly although I need to rub down the wheel and clean the trim get a new grey pinstripe....Laughing

I think I need to mask up better next time Razz
