Adding what Renault forgot

ok so i got a 19 16v, just not fast enough needs more power, and i want to learn as much as i can while i build it myself its going to be a long hard struggle that going to be done right and if it costs more than its worth o well i can build a 2L after with what i've learnt

i started on painting the engine that my first project is begin built from after i had it chemcally cleaned, i decided to paint it with some dark blue harmmerite paint as on the tin it looks quite close to the 449 blue the 19's came in so good choice i thought as my next car will more than likely be blue now (i aint painting it again )

right some pics 1st is from the day one after i got it, just the bare block and sump of doc

2nd aint the best but as you can see it has been cleaned but it still had the paint on it the sump came back quite silver and after a quick brush with the wire brush were ready for painting

this is after the 1st coat paint as you can still see the black through the paint

and this is the 2nd coat its gone on quite well dark blue as it said impressed

now just got to clean all the faces up and clean and tidy up the inside of the block before i start buying the internals and start getting my beast off the ground

few more colour coded pieces in place, and few things ive took off my other block just been cleaned and de-greased and unfinished and are just held in place for now so i remember where all the bits are and are going lol
still stripping my other bottom end and im hopeful the crank and conrods are still in GWO have to buy a few things this weekend for now a few cheap items will do a new water pump and front engine mount 1st i think

last bits are all painted up there are more but i have to build more up before i can fit them, hope to go to renault today to collect my parts as this project is slowing up at the mo

going to take the alloy parts for a sand blast to see if i can get their shine back.

right today i started back on my project pulling out the remaining parts i needed from my spare engine to go in ths one, got 3 on the conrods out easily the the forth was nt havinh none of it so abit of anger taken out on that one lol but apart from it went sweet all looks in wicked condition so hopefully i dont need new con rods or a new crank, the only thing i need to get is a pulley for the end of the crank because it looks slighty battered and chipped (not by me!!)

conrods and crank

thrust washers

under piston oil jets

also managed to get this bit of pipe out the block (goes behind water pump) left it soaking in a load of WD-40 a month ago so wasnt as bad as i thought it would be (considering it wouldnt even budge back then) so thats going to get cleaned out of the crap and get painted the same dark blue as the rest of the block and get it fitted,

still have things to get as im waiting to get quite alot of the parts and then do as much as i can in one big go rather than in dribs and drabs

yay progress i got my core plugs today (forgot one ) fitted and painted in aswell

they are

77 03 075 218 (small one by oil filter)
77 03 075 219 (one behind P/S bracket)
77 03 075 169 (one at top of the block)
77 03 075 009 (three at the back)
77 03 075 214 (one on gearbox side)

all cost £16.57

need another 77 03 075 214 to have them all done

just getting small parts from renault atm as im in no rush.. looking for a new water pump also... and into having my drivetrain balanced anyone got a price?

MARCH 2007 - FUN SLOWLY STARTS AGAIN...

i have sent most of my alloy off to be blasted, its begin done by my mate so he's taking a bit and bringing a bit back to do in his lunch (either way it's cheap )

want to get the block to APD soon as i can to be rebored to 82.7mm which should be in the next month or two (fingers crossed)
