Project "Silver Streak"
Project "Silver Streak"
Documenting the creation of the first V6-powered Renault 19
Published by Gentle Ben
27th October 2006
Introduction

Tuesday, February 1st 2005

I was struggling to come up with an original name with which to refer to the 19. However, after much thought I have decided to entitle my 19 Project "Silver Streak" - a comical, if somewhat sarcastic description he coined for the 19 a year or two ago.

Unfortunately, my grandfather lost his battle with cancer a few short months ago. Therefore, I shall name this Project "Silver Streak" in his memory.

You may have already seen some pictures of her over on the RSC Forums, and there are some other pics Chris H posted after I recently paid him a visit to have some work done.

I will start with fresh pictures - I have just taken receipt of a 512MB Memory Card for my digital camera, so tomorrow I will start making use of it!

when he fabricates a complete custom front end so that the engine can be mounted and the driveshafts won't pop every 3 feet.

Wink

I like the way that in 57 pages you have accomplished nothing aside dangling and holding various unfitted parts up to a shell where as Neal has nearly rebuilt an entire car in 34 pages and he's not short of detail either.
